THE PROJECTS

A STORIED LONDON LANDMARK

In a former life, the Great Scotland Yard Hotel, London, once served as the headquarters for Britain’s Metropolitan Police Forces, where many of London’s criminals met their fate. Deemed a historic landmark, it has undergone a £75 million renovation, transforming it from a storied jailhouse to a 153-room five-star hotel.

Our projects team was engaged to produce furniture for the majority of the hotel’s spaces, including a highly detailed statement-making table for one of their bars. The highlight of the showpiece are the 15 beech wood turned legs, shaped with a lathe to ensure a symmetrical base, and finished in an elegant maroon gloss. Atop the majestically crafted base sits an impressively long table top made from tempered low iron with a glass finish. The table also features LED lighting and drawers whose handles and keyholes are finished in antique brass - a reference back to the building’s police and military past.

LANDMARK OF LUXURY

Award winning, iconic hotel, Address Downtown Dubai, is a haven for those looking for refined indulgence.

Rochdale Spears Projects worked closely with the hotel’s design team to develop a range of beautifully crafted bespoke tables, desks, cabinets and dressers, for all 15 different rooms and suite types. The hotel’s modern, luxurious and opulent aesthetic was achieved through sourcing the finest materials, such as solid oak and porcelain, imbued with exquisite craftsmanship and state-of the-art technology.

The oversized Mini Bar Cabinets are a particular focal point in the hotel’s business suites. Crafted from highly durable walnut wood, decorated using faux shagreen with a metal base, the simple yet statement piece epitomize the hotel’s sophisticated streak.

URBAN NEIGHBORHOOD

Farfetch luxury fashion retail brand. Empowering individuality.

Our Projects team worked closely with multi-disciplined design company, Studiofibre, to produce pieces that reflect Farfetch’s brand identity for each of their seven offices. A variety of materials, from concrete and blackened steel to soft luxurious fabrics were used. The design approach highlighted the brick and mortar roots of each of Farfetch’s fashion brands and its own position in the high-end fashion trade.

A staple design installation in their offices our team produced is the uniquely designed and highly tactile SpeakEasy Phonebooth. Fashioned from vertical layers of high-grade maple plywood slats and fitted with single-pane glass double doors, a laptop ledge, a leather upholstered lean-seat, lighting, and a self-ventilating system, this sculptural private pod was shortlisted for the 2019 Blueprint Awards, an international design award.

RETREAT IN THE CITY

Our team collaborated with influential New York-based, Danish-born, architect Thomas Juul Hansen on furniture for all 344 rooms and public areas in luxury boutique hotel, The James New York – NoMad.

Pieces were crafted in a range of specialist finishes and materials such as marble, walnut, brass and wrought iron to capture a warm, modern, residential aesthetic; at the same time complimenting the classic, Beaux-Arts architectural detailing.

A NEW YORK CITY ICON

Described as one of New York City’s most exceptional landmarks, The Beekman is located in a once-abandoned site in lower Manhattan, surrounded by some of the city’s most beloved and iconic attractions.

Working alongside prestigious design firm Martin Brudnizki, our team developed and crafted over 4000 exceptional vintage pieces in an incredible array of styles and finishes which reflect the rich architectural history of the building. While much of the furniture stays true to the building’s Victorian heritage, other pieces represent a fusion of different periods, deliberately mismatched: a 20’s lamp sits alongside a mid-century bedside table, which sits next to a contemporary desk.

OLD MASTER, NEW WORLD

With a history that dates back four centuries, Hotel Pulitzer Amsterdam is one of the city’s most treasured architectural and cultural icons.

Our team worked closely with renowned designer, Jacu Strauss, and the Pulitzer Hotel’s in-house design team to produce pieces that reflected the hotel’s unique heritage and contemporary Dutch design. In addition to unique headboards that take on the distinct shape of the rooflines in Amsterdam, our craftsmen also handcrafted exquisite, custom-designed art deco trolleys to house modern mini-bars.

LINER LUXURY

Situated on the banks of the Thames and occupying the space within Sea Containers House, the first Mondrian branded hotel in London represents a very successful collaboration with Tom Dixon.

Our team worked intimately with Dixon’s Design Research Studio for over two years on developing the project and producing custom-made furniture for the hotel’s 360 rooms. Fusing cutting edge design and 1920’s elegance, many pieces feature the signature high-gloss black lacquer finish that require a high degree of technical knowledge and expertise.

OCEAN-INSPIRED OPULENCE

A high-profile haunt for the rich and famous by renowned restaurateur Richard Caring.

Working alongside McLaren furniture, our team produced the second round of loose furniture, including bespoke banquettes, booths, and chairs. Fashioned in a mid-century design, he pieces beautifully offset their surroundings - Iranian Esmeralda onyx, dark-stained timber paneled walls, and iconic artworks by Damien Hirst, Frank Gehry and Vanity Fair’s Michael Roberts.
