Also known as investment casting or precision casting, lost wax casting is extremely accurate in replicating complex shapes and details. The original wax pattern is dipped in multiple layers of mold materials, producing a hard shell into which molten metal is pouted. The wax is displaced by the molton metal, which hardens into the cast part as it cools. The mold is then removed, revealing the final casting for trimming, polishing, and finishing.
